User fees

Unlock fee: starting from €1.Effective once the vehicle is opened. The unlock fee is €1/ride for S & M vehicles and €2/ride for Premium, L, and XL vehicles.Rookie Fee: €9/calendar monthMonthly fee for rookies, who do not have their driver’s license for more than 12 months. The fee is only charged for the calendar months in which you drive and is due with the first ride of the respective calendar month.Minimum rate: €15/rideA minimum rate per ride applies for L & XL vehicles. If your ride costs more than €15, you will be billed according to the relevant km, hourly, or daily rate. You will be charged the minimum rate if your ride costs less than €15. The minimum rate does not include Protection Plus: should you opt for extra coverage for your ride, this will be billed in addition to the minimum rate.

City-to-City trips

City-to-City trips are possible between all MILES cities.City-to-City fee car: €5.99City-to-City fee van: €39.99

Costs for trips abroad

We charge a fee for each trip abroad. For trips abroad, all costs for parking, fuelling/charging, highway toll & toll stickers must be paid by the customer and will not be covered by us.If during your rental abroad traffic tickets arise, you will be charged by us incl. processing fee.Surcharge for trips abroad: €5/calendar dayThe border crossing surcharge of €5/calendar day is capped at max. €25/rental.Fuelling/charging abroad: n/aCosts depend on the gas station or charging station and are not covered by us.

Trips outside of the business area

You can always leave the business area, drive to other cities or out into the countryside. However, ending your rental there is not always possible. Outside the business area, you can only pause the rental (stopover), but you must drive back to a MILES city or airport to end your rental. Please note the following fees for unauthorized drop-off:Drop-off outside the business area*: €500This fee applies if you insist on ending your ride outside the business area within the country where you started your rental OR if we had to end your trip because you violated our Terms and Conditions.* You can find our business area in the app; it is outlined in black.Drop-off abroad**: €1000This fee applies if you refuse to return to the MILES country where you started the rental and insist on ending your ride abroad OR if we had to end your trip because you violated our Terms and Conditions.** The country of business is where the vehicle was rented.

Handling fees

Partner area penalty: €50Penalty for disregarding the terms of use of our parking area partners.Traffic related fines: €29.50The extra cost of the actual penalty will be forwarded to you.Belated damage notification: €29.50If vehicle damages have been shared after ending a ride, we charge a fee for special examination.Vehicle towing: €70The processing fee is charged plus the cost of the towing procedure. Additional costs will be charged if the vehicle is deficient due to towing.Billing address correction: €2.50 per correctionA fee per each adjustment will be applied if you forget to select the correct payment profile before your ride and need to update the billing address afterward.Dunning fee: €2.50We charge it when payments are overdue. The initial charge of €2.50 occurs seven days after the second reminder. If the invoice remains unpaid for an additional seven days, a subsequent charge of €2.50 will be applied.Handling fees shall not be charged if the customer proves that no costs have been incurred or that the actual costs incurred are significantly lower than the flat-rate fee.Direct debit feeA €5 fee will be charged if we are unable to debit the specified bank account. This fee applies only to MILES for Business accounts that pay their monthly invoices via SEPA Direct Debit.

Any forfeited contractual penalty or flat-rate fee shall be offset against the corresponding claim for damages by MILES

Abuse & criminal offenses

Blocking a vehicle: €50If the vehicle is only used to stay without moving it, it will be blocked. During the rental, the vehicle must be moved more than 1km within 10 minutes. In addition, there are additional costs (€0.29/min). More information can be found in our terms and conditions.Contractual penalty: €250In the event of a breach of the obligations outlined in the General Terms and Conditions (GTC) and the General Rental Terms and Conditions (GRTC), a contractual penalty shall be applied. (Section 2.4 of the GTC, Sections 1.12, 2.2, 2.3, 6.1 and 6.4 of the GRTC).Passing login data/unauthorized use: €500Prosecution of criminal offences: €2000Additional fees may be applied by respective service providers/authorities. The amount is based on effort and deficiency of the vehicle.Security deposit: €1000A security deposit will be kept until cases of misuse or criminal offences are resolved.
